CALOOCAN CITY — Nida Vinluan, 59, lost her home in a fire that razed approximately 300 households inside the Philippine National Railways compound along Samson Road.

Operation Blessing Responds To Caloocan FireThe fire, which lasted eight and a half hours and damages estimated at P5 million, was believed to have been caused by a burning electrical wire.

The only thing Nanay Nida had time to do was to look for her four grandchildren who were left in her house when the fire started. After hours of searching, she was grateful to see that none of them was hurt.

“I’m still thankful that I didn’t lose a family member,” she said.

Because of their recent tragedy, it would be hard for Nanay Nida and her family to return to their normal lives. That’s why they are grateful to Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines (OB) for helping them recover and look at their situation from God’s perspective.

Operation Blessing Responds To Caloocan FireMoved with compassion, OB immediately responded by providing goods and supplies to the fire victims. About 300 families were given relief packs containing soup mixes, used clothes, and crisis management booklets.

“I can’t believe this has happened to us. But through your prayers and words of encouragement, I know that by God’s grace we can stand again,” Nanay Nida told OB. “Thank you so much, Operation Blessing!”

With help from churches, local institutions, volunteers, and faithful partners like you, OB’s mission to bring aid and recovery during disasters is made possible.
