The storm surge last June 12 caused destruction along the coastal town of Glan in Sarangani, claiming lives and various properties, while rampaging floodwaters set off landslides in hilly barangays.
In response, Operation Blessing and its generous partners brought in relief and aid to hundreds of affected families through “Operation: Bless Sarangani.”
As of June 27, Operation Blessing has served 466 families or nearly 2,000 residents in Barangays Cross, Big Margus, and Pangyan in Glan. They all received hygiene kits, clothing, and food supplies.
One of those helped was 68-year-old Juanito Wata, a farmer for 53 years. A landslide triggered by heavy rains destroyed 3/4 of his 1 hectare farm of corn and sweet potatoes. He beamed with much joy and relief when he received his food and relief pack from Operation Blessing.
“Thank you! You have really helped us!” he told Operation Blessing.
Operation Blessing continues to rally more supporters in rebuilding lives, homes, and communities severely affected by flashfloods in Sarangani. With a donation of P10,000, one family’s damaged home can be restored.
